Lions still looking for second win

Lions still looking for second win

It was an eventful game but the Lions lost to the Cecil College Seahawks 11-7. Kevin Gamble had a day for the Lions going three for five at the plate with 3 RBI.

In the top of the 1st the Seahawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead. The Lions answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the 2nd when Gamble brought his first run of the day home.

It was a quiet game until the 5th inning when the Lions gave up a solo home run followed by a three run home run to put the Lions down 7-1. In the bottom of the inning with two outs Jouseph Rodriguez doubled and Chaney Skeans singled to bring him home.

In the top of the 6th the Seahawks had bases loaded and a single brought home two runs with a single. The same thing happened for the Lions in the bottom half of the inning, bases loaded and Gamble's single brought home two runs. The Lions scored a third run that inning from a balk to make it a 9-5 Seahawks lead.

In the bottom of the 7th with a man on second and third the Seahawks first baseman flipped the ball to the pitcher at first base and the ball went in and out of his glove and two runs scored for the Lions but they were still down 9-7.

There was no comeback story here today as Dundalk's offense could not score anymore while Cecil added two runs of their own in the top of the 9th 11-7.
